Uzbekistan and Iran Enhance Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation
Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Fariddin Nasriyev recently held a meeting with Javad Nikbin, a member of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly and the newly appointed head of the Iran-Uzbekistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration within the framework of the Iran-Uzbekistan inter-parliamentary group. It was acknowledged that the leaders of both countries have shown political will and joint efforts in recent years, leading to a significant improvement in the multifaceted cooperative relations between Uzbekistan and Iran.
Plans to hold a session of the inter-parliamentary friendship group this year were also discussed, with the aim of further expanding cooperation between the two nations. Additionally, the Iranian side expressed their support for a proposal to visit Uzbekistan with representatives of the business community and to organize a business forum in Uzbekistan that would involve both parliamentarians and business representatives.
Overall, the meeting between Ambassador Nasriyev and Javad Nikbin highlighted the growing importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran, and the commitment of both countries to further strengthening their relations in various fields.
