Uzbekistan and Russia Strengthen Collaboration in Tax Administration
Uzbekistan and Russia have recently signed an agreement to enhance collaboration in tax administration. The focus will be on implementing training programs, digital marking of goods, and transitioning to electronic tax exchanges to improve transparency and efficiency in both countries.
Sherzod Kudbiyev, Chairman of the State Tax Committee in Uzbekistan, expressed his optimism about the collaboration, stating that it would significantly enhance the capacity of the tax authorities in both countries. Daniil Egorov, Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service, highlighted the importance of feedback on training and emphasized its role in bilateral cooperation.
During discussions, the officials also addressed issues related to the digital marking of goods and identified key areas of work for the year 2025. They emphasized the importance of creating additional conveniences for taxpayers involved in the circulation of marked products, with a priority on improving the goods traceability system to enhance market transparency and control efficiency.
As part of the collaboration, a delegation from the State Tax Committee visited the Robotics Center in Russia, where they were introduced to advanced technologies for automating warehouse processes to optimize logistics operations and minimize costs.
Furthermore, both parties agreed to transition tax-related request exchanges to an electronic format, with a corresponding document signed during the meeting. The Uzbek delegation also learned about the Russian Federal Tax Service’s practices regarding banking secrecy for tax purposes, aligning with international standards for information exchange.
In a separate agreement in September, Uzbekistan and Russia agreed to exchange digital marking codes for pharmaceuticals. The State Tax Committee and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation signed an agreement on information exchange to establish a legal framework for the mutual recognition of markings.
Overall, the collaboration between Uzbekistan and Russia in tax administration is expected to bring about greater efficiency, transparency, and cooperation between the two countries in the coming years.
