Uzbekistan and South Korea to Expand Strategic Partnership in Trade and Economics

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, recently held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Won Do-Yeon, to discuss ways to enhance trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, both parties agreed to take mutual measures to increase the volume of bilateral trade and foster partnerships between businesses in Uzbekistan and South Korea. They also committed to addressing any obstacles that may be hindering the development of their trade relations.

A significant development was the opening of a representative office of South Korea’s Gyeonggi-do Province in Tashkent, which is expected to strengthen interregional cooperation and support investment activities in Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, discussions were held on potential collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Economic Development and Cooperation Fund (EDCF) to further deepen cooperation between the two nations.

In conclusion, both sides expressed their readiness to expand partnership relations and outlined a plan for comprehensive practical cooperation in various areas as part of their joint efforts to enhance cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea.
