Uzbekistan and Togo Establish Diplomatic Relations
In a significant development, Uzbekistan has officially established diplomatic relations with the Togolese Republic, further expanding its ties with African nations. The announcement was made following a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov, and Togo’s Foreign Minister, Robert Dussey, in New York.
“Togo has become the 155th country with which Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations,” Saidov confirmed on his official Telegram channel. The two ministers signed a Joint Communiqué during the meeting, formalizing the diplomatic relationship between Uzbekistan and Togo.
Saidov emphasized the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation with African nations and underscored the strategic importance of these partnerships. This move comes on the heels of a recent agreement between Uzbekistan and Liberia, where the two countries also signed a Joint Communiqué to establish diplomatic ties, solidifying Uzbekistan’s diplomatic presence in Africa.
With this latest development, Uzbekistan continues to strengthen its diplomatic outreach across the African continent, fostering closer relationships and collaboration with nations on the global stage.
