Uzbekistan appoints new ambassador to Kazakhstan
Bakhtiyor Ibragimov Appointed as New Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan
The government of Uzbekistan has announced the appointment of Bakhtiyor Ibragimov as the new Ambassador to Kazakhstan. Ibragimov will be replacing Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev, who served as the Ambassador from 2018 to 2024.
Ibragimov is a seasoned diplomat with an impressive background. He graduated from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade. His career in diplomacy began in 1994 at the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of Uzbekistan, now known as the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade.
In 2001, Ibragimov took on a role at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, starting as the First Secretary and later moving up to become a Trade and Economic Advisor. Upon his return to Uzbekistan, he held various positions within the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, including as Head of a Sector in the Cabinet of Ministers.
From 2019 to 2022, Ibragimov served as the Ambassador to the UAE, gaining valuable experience in international relations. He has also worked as the Director of a Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.
With his extensive experience and knowledge in diplomacy and international affairs, Bakhtiyor Ibragimov is well-equipped to represent Uzbekistan as the new Ambassador to Kazakhstan. His appointment is seen as a positive step towards strengthening the ties between the two countries and promoting cooperation in various fields.
