Uzbekistan’s Progress in Global Cybersecurity Index
Uzbekistan has demonstrated significant improvement in its position in the Global Cybersecurity Index, according to the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024 report. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has reported that Uzbekistan has made substantial progress in the field of cybersecurity, now being classified in the category of countries with an actively developing cyberspace protection system (T2 Advancing).
Since 2020, Uzbekistan’s cybersecurity index has seen a notable increase from 71.11 to 89.2 points. This advancement highlights the country’s commitment to enhancing its cybersecurity infrastructure and protocols to safeguard against cyber threats and attacks.
Earlier, it was reported by Kun.uz that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law on cybersecurity in Uzbekistan, emphasizing the government’s dedication to ensuring the protection and security of digital assets and critical information. This proactive approach has evidently contributed to Uzbekistan’s improved standing in the global cybersecurity landscape.
