Uzbekistan Brings Home 15 Children left without Parents from Russia

Fifteen Children Repatriated to Uzbekistan from Russia

Fifteen children who were left without parental care in various Russian cities have been successfully repatriated to Uzbekistan, as confirmed by a statement from the National Social Protection Agency. This operation, which occurred on December 15, involved the return of ten children to a social and legal assistance center for minors, while the remaining five were temporarily housed in a children’s home in Tashkent.

The repatriation effort was a joint initiative led by Uzbekistan’s National Social Protection Agency in partnership with the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Health. The primary focus was on bringing back ten children from six different regions in Russia. During this process, an additional five children were identified as lacking parental care, with the assistance of Uzbekistan’s consulates and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

All fifteen children were safely brought back to Uzbekistan. The ten children in the social assistance center will receive temporary care until plans are finalized for their reunification with their families. The remaining five children will be residing at a children’s home in Tashkent while awaiting further decisions on their placement.

The National Social Protection Agency has emphasized the importance of ongoing monitoring to ensure the well-being of these children. Officials will conduct regular evaluations of the children’s family environments and provide necessary support services as required. This collaborative effort aims to safeguard the rights and welfare of these vulnerable children who have been repatriated to Uzbekistan.
