Uzbekistan Delegation Learns from Italy’s Local Representative Bodies

A delegation from Uzbekistan visited the cities of Rome and Venice with the support of the Embassy of their country. The delegation consisted of representatives of local government authorities and the visit was organized to study foreign experience in order to develop a concept for the development of activities of representative bodies of local government in Uzbekistan until 2030.

During the visit, members of the delegation met with several key figures in Italy, including the head of the department of international relations of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, an expert, a diplomatic adviser, and officials from regional councils. Discussions were held on the implementation of Italian best practices in the organization, management, and improvement of the activities of local representative bodies in Uzbekistan.

The Italian side expressed readiness to share their experience in this area and also expressed interest in learning from the experience of Uzbekistan. Following the meetings, agreements were made to continue the bilateral dialogue between the two countries.

This visit not only strengthens the relationship between Uzbekistan and Italy but also opens up opportunities for collaboration and mutual learning in the development of local government activities. The exchange of views and sharing of experiences will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and improvement of both countries’ local governance systems.
