
Uzbekistan Delegation to Attend Farewell Ceremony for Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran

A delegation from Uzbekistan led by the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, Nurdinjon Ismoilov, will participate in the farewell ceremony for the late President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran, Iran on May 22.
President Ebrahim Raisi passed away on May 19 due to a technical malfunction in his helicopter while traveling in northern Iran. In response, a special committee led by Vice President Mohsin Mansouri has been formed to organize the funeral ceremonies for the deceased leader.
In addition to the funeral arrangements, the election commission has announced that early presidential elections will be held on June 28 in Iran. The presence of international delegations, including that of Uzbekistan, highlights the significance of President Raisi’s passing and the importance of honoring his memory. The delegation from Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis will pay their respects to the late President and strengthen diplomatic ties between the two countries during this solemn occasion.
