Uzbekistan Diplomatic Missions Initiate Early Voting Process

Early Voting Begins for Presidential Elections in Uzbekistan

Early voting for the upcoming presidential elections in Uzbekistan, scheduled for July 9, has officially begun. On June 28, members of the commission from the polling station at the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Rostov-on-Don traveled to the Russian city of Krasnodar to organize early mobile voting. This allowed citizens of Uzbekistan who are engaged in temporary labor activities in Krasnodar to participate in the voting process.

Mehriddin Rakhmatov, one of the voters, expressed his excitement about exercising his constitutional right. He stated, “Today, we have come to exercise our constitutional right. I have made my choice, which I think will serve the development of Uzbekistan.”

In addition, the commission members from the polling station at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea also organized mobile points for early voting in the South Korean cities of Jeonju, Ulsan, and Pochon. Shukhrat Bozorov, a student at the South Korean University of Chunbuk, shared his thoughts on participating in the electoral process for the first time. He said, “Of course, there is excitement. But most of all it is pleasant to feel that my vote is decisive in the fate of the country. Therefore, I voted for the candidate I consider worthy.”

The early voting process has also started at the voting stations in Kamchatka and the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia, according to the schedule. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok reported that over 2,000 Uzbeks are participating in the voting in Russia.

At the exit polling station organized at the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk, early voting has also commenced. The diplomatic mission stated that citizens of Uzbekistan temporarily residing, working, or studying in the Siberian Federal District of Russia are taking part in the voting.

Moreover, citizens of Uzbekistan residing in India exercised their constitutional right to participate in the early voting process at the 52nd polling station, established at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India. Businessman Islamkhon Avliyoyev, who is currently on a business trip, mentioned, “Due to the fact that I am on a business trip, I decided to vote early. All conditions have been created in our embassy in Delhi for this. Today I voted for a candidate who, in my opinion, will be able to take the development of our country to a new level.”

Yesterday, on June 28, early voting began at the 12th polling station organized at the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Citizens of Uzbekistan currently residing in Germany will be able to participate in the voting until July 5.

It is important to note that the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan has established 56 polling stations at diplomatic and other representations of the country in foreign countries. This provides convenient access to voting for Uzbek citizens living abroad during the presidential elections.
