Uzbekistan eager to enhance ties with new U.S. administration
Uzbekistan is gearing up to deepen its strategic partnership with the United States in 2025, as outlined in the draft State Program for the upcoming year. The plan involves engaging with the new U.S. administration and advancing bilateral ties in various key sectors such as security, trade, and education.
One of the key goals outlined in the program is to organize high-level visits between the two nations and hold the first round of an expanded strategic partnership dialogue in Tashkent. This move is aimed at solidifying relations with the incoming U.S. administration and highlighting Uzbekistan’s strategic significance in Central Asia.
Furthermore, Uzbekistan is looking to strengthen cooperation under the “C5+1” regional framework, which includes the five Central Asian countries and the U.S. The plans include ministerial meetings, working group sessions, and preparations for a 10th-anniversary summit in Samarkand.
In addition to this, Uzbekistan is set to enhance parliamentary cooperation by hosting influential U.S. Congress members and boosting trade and investment ties through various platforms such as business forums, exhibitions, and targeted investor outreach. The focus on security collaboration remains strong, with efforts in place to uphold Uzbekistan’s positive reputation in U.S. human rights reports.
The program also highlights plans for increased cooperation in education, science, healthcare, and environmental protection. Joint initiatives in these areas will involve university partnerships, English language teaching programs, and ecological projects, among others.
Overall, Uzbekistan’s vision for deepening its strategic partnership with the United States in 2025 is comprehensive and focused on fostering mutual benefits across various sectors for both nations.
