Uzbekistan evacuates injured Palestinians from Rafah for medical treatment

Uzbekistan Extends Aid to Injured Palestinian Children and Women
In a show of humanitarian support, Uzbekistan has evacuated 100 injured Palestinian children, women, and their companions to the country. This initiative, announced by Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Cairo, Mansurbek Kilichev, was made possible through the coordination with the Ministry of Health and the approval of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The injured Palestinians will be accommodated in rehabilitation centers and hospitals in Uzbekistan, where they will receive the necessary medical treatment and support. Kilichev reassured that the evacuated individuals will be treated as guests in the country until they can safely return to their homeland.
President Mirziyoyev’s commitment to assisting the Palestinian people was demonstrated in a speech delivered prior to the extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in 2024. In his address, he emphasized the importance of halting military actions in Palestinian territories and establishing safe humanitarian corridors. Mirziyoyev also expressed the readiness of Uzbekistan to welcome and care for injured Palestinian children and women in need of treatment.
The Uzbek government has pledged to provide comprehensive support to the evacuated Palestinians, including accommodations, education, food, and other essential resources. This compassionate gesture reflects Uzbekistan’s dedication to assisting those in crisis and upholding the principles of humanitarian aid.
