During the conference, the progress made in the industry over the past 9 months was presented. It was revealed that both the National Archives of Uzbekistan and the state archives of the republic have successfully digitized a total of 64.7 million frames across 972.4 thousand storage units.
As per the approved plan, since the beginning of 2023, approximately 11.2 million frames have been digitized in 110.4 thousand storage units, surpassing the set target by 107.3%. This achievement highlights the commitment of the National Archives and State Archives of Uzbekistan to modernize their operations.
Furthermore, the agencies have created a remarkable number of resources, including 48,434 funds, 47,625 lists, 614,556 storage units, and 259,107 documents. These efforts contribute to the preservation and accessibility of valuable historical records.
In addition to the digitization efforts, the Uzarkhiv agency has received 725 applications from individuals and legal entities in just 9 months of 2023. It is evident that there is a growing interest in accessing archival information. Similarly, the republican archives have handled a significant number of requests, totaling 447,361 for thematic and socio-legal content, effectively meeting the demands of the public.
To encourage research and facilitate the work of scholars, research activities have been organized in state archival educational institutions.
