Uzbekistan gears up for Hajj-24 with pilgrimage preparations

The pilgrimage season in Uzbekistan for the year 2024 is set to begin on May 23. Flights from the republic to Saudi Arabia will be available daily until June 7, with pilgrims flying directly from ten regional airports in Uzbekistan to Medina. These airports include Tashkent, Bukhara, Namangan, Fergana, Samarkand, Karshi, Termez, Urgench, Nukus, and Navoi, all serviced by Uzbekistan Airways.

Preparations for this year’s pilgrimage season are being expedited by the Republic’s Public Council for Organizing and Conducting Hajj and Umrah events. This includes medical examinations and vaccinations for pilgrims, assigning group leaders, providing pre-travel training, mobilizing medical and cooking teams, and finalizing travel documentation.

Group leaders are currently educating pilgrims on the rituals of Hajj, providing them with a guidebook titled “Hajj is a great act of worship” and essential items such as a bag and prayer mat. The authorities are working diligently to ensure a smooth and organized pilgrimage experience for all participants.
