Uzbekistan Installs 8 Automatic Air Pollution Monitoring Stations

Automatic air pollution monitoring stations will soon be installed in several regions of Uzbekistan, including Andijan, Namangan, Navoi, Fergana, Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Tashkent, and the capital city itself. The Ministry of Ecology has reported that 8 automatic stations have been delivered to these regions as part of a joint project with the Zamin Foundation and the Hydrometeorological Service Agency.

The purpose of this project, titled “Automation of Monitoring of Atmospheric Air Pollution,” is to improve the monitoring and data collection process related to air quality. Once the stations are configured and tested, they will be connected to a single database. Additionally, regional staff members of the Hydrometeorological Service Agency will receive special training to effectively operate the equipment.

Data collected from these automatic stations will be transmitted to the national platform monitoring.meteo.uz/uz, allowing for real-time monitoring of air pollution levels. This initiative follows the successful launch of the first two automated stations in Jizzakh and Gulistan last year.

With the installation of these automatic stations, Uzbekistan is taking proactive steps to address environmental concerns and ensure the well-being of its citizens. The use of advanced technology in monitoring air quality demonstrates a commitment to sustainable practices and environmental protection.
