Uzbekistan Joins Eurasian Development Bank Agreement

Uzbekistan has officially become a member of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) after President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the corresponding document. The approval for Uzbekistan’s membership was granted after the law was adopted by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on January 21, 2025, and later approved by the Senate on March 18.

The Eurasian Development Bank, with an authorized capital of $7 billion, focuses on financing investment projects within its member states. The bank’s key areas of interest include supporting projects in the “green economy,” transport and logistics, alternative energy sources, and other sectors that contribute to regional development and integration.

Uzbekistan’s accession to the EDB is expected to bring additional opportunities for investment and cooperation in various sectors, ultimately contributing to the country’s economic growth and development. With the EDB’s support, Uzbekistan can further enhance its regional ties and contribute to the overall advancement of the Eurasian region.
