Uzbekistan Provides Humanitarian Aid and Medical Assistance to Afghanistan
Uzbekistan has recently sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, including food and medical supplies, in addition to sending a team of doctors. The Uzbek doctors will be providing free medical check-ups for the population in the Afghan province of Balkh from December 25 to 30.
This initiative follows the instructions of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who authorized the dispatch of humanitarian assistance, consisting of food products and medicines, to Afghanistan. The press service of the Surkhandarya regional administration confirmed this news.
Residents of Balkh province in Afghanistan will have the opportunity to receive free medical consultations from qualified Uzbek doctors during the specified dates. The delivery of this humanitarian aid was made at the request of the Afghan side, which was discussed during a bilateral meeting between the governments of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
The transportation of the aid was coordinated by Ulugbek Kosimov, the governor of Surkhandarya region, along with representatives from the ministries of Transport and Foreign Affairs, and Uzbekistan Railways.
