
Uzbekistan Sees Over 1.5 Million Tourists Traveling Abroad in Q1 2025

Surge in International Travel Among Uzbek Citizens
According to the National Statistics Committee, more than 1.5 million citizens of Uzbekistan traveled abroad for tourism and other purposes between January and March 2025. This figure marks a significant increase of 256,500 individuals, or 20.3%, compared to the same period in the previous year.
The first quarter of 2025 saw a diverse range of reasons driving international travel among Uzbek citizens. The breakdown of travel purposes was as follows:
- Visiting Relatives: 1,189,827 individuals
- Leisure/Tourism: 307,199 individuals
- Medical Treatment: 11,764 individuals
- Education: 7,437 individuals
- Business Trips: 3,320 individuals
These statistics underline a growing trend in international travel, reflecting not just the desire for leisure and tourism but also the importance of personal connections and educational pursuits. The marked increase in travel is likely influenced by easing travel restrictions and the desire for cultural exchange among nations.
