Uzbekistan Signs €9M Deal to Export Uranium to France through Russia

Navoiyuran, a state-owned enterprise, has recently entered into a partnership with Kazakh company, TOO Logistic Centre, for the transportation of natural uranium to France via Russia. This collaboration was confirmed by data from UzRTSB, the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange.

According to the agreement, Navoiyuran will oversee the transportation of 500 containers from the port of St. Petersburg to Malvési, located in Southern France. The total volume of cargo is expected to reach up to 6,000 tons, with the contract carrying a value of €9 million.

The shipments are scheduled to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2026, with each shipment required to be finalized within 15 days from departure from the port of St. Petersburg. A crucial aspect of this agreement is the assurance of the cargo’s safe and secure delivery, in full compliance with the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material.

This partnership reflects the commitment of both Navoiyuran and TOO Logistic Centre to upholding the highest standards of safety and efficiency in the transportation of natural uranium. With meticulous attention to detail and adherence to international regulations, this collaboration aims to ensure the secure delivery of cargo to its destination in France.
