Street Sweeper Climbs Drainpipe to Save Victims from Fire in St. Petersburg
A heroic act was carried out by a street sweeper named Olimjon in St. Petersburg, who risked his life to save residents from a burning building. Without any hesitation, Olimjon climbed up a drainpipe to the third floor of the building and rescued two young women who were trapped inside.
The incident took place early in the morning when Olimjon noticed smoke coming from the upper floors of the building. With quick thinking, he rushed to the scene and saw residents in distress, unable to escape due to the smoke and flames blocking the entrance. Without a second thought, Olimjon climbed the pipe to reach the victims and prevent them from jumping out of the building.
Thanks to Olimjon’s bravery and quick actions, the firefighters were able to rescue the residents using a ladder and a truck crane. Olimjon’s military background in the Airborne Forces in Uzbekistan and his boxing experience helped him stay calm and composed during the rescue operation.
Despite the risks involved, Olimjon emphasized the importance of helping others regardless of their nationality. Having lived in Russia for seven years, he considers the country his second home and believes in the power of unity and kindness among people.
The building manager praised Olimjon for his selfless act, highlighting his years of service as a street sweeper and his kind and generous nature. Olimjon’s courage and determination serve as a reminder of the heroism that can be found in everyday people, willing to go above and beyond to help those in need.
