Uzbekistan Strengthens Labor Migration Partnership with Poland

Uzbekistan and Poland Forge New Path for Labor Migration

Uzbekistan and Poland are set to embark on a significant partnership aimed at streamlining labor migration procedures, particularly for Uzbek citizens seeking employment in Poland. This initiative, announced by Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency, strives to simplify the visa process, making it easier for skilled professionals from Uzbekistan to find work in Poland.

The conversation was led by Behzod Musayev, head of the Migration Agency, during a meeting with Michał Kamiński, Deputy Speaker of the Polish Senate. The two officials underscored the rising demand for labor in Poland amid ongoing demographic challenges facing the nation and many other European countries.

Kamiński emphasized the potential of Uzbekistan’s workforce, pointing to the country’s rich pool of young, talented individuals and strong educational systems that prioritize foreign language proficiency and relevant vocational training. “This presents a valuable opportunity for both countries,” he remarked.

During their discussions, Musayev and Kamiński explored the establishment of training and retraining programs designed to equip Uzbek citizens with the skills needed for high-paying positions within Polish industries. They also contemplated initiatives to facilitate seasonal employment through dedicated visa programs, further enhancing the potential for collaboration between the two nations.

This development comes on the heels of Uzbekistan’s ongoing labor migration negotiations with Austria and discussions with South Korean authorities aimed at easing visa regulations. Earlier this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also endorsed a labor migration agreement with Germany, which simplifies entry for Uzbek professionals seeking work in the country.

As both Uzbekistan and Poland take meaningful steps towards enhancing labor mobility, this initiative not only stands to benefit their respective economies but also fosters greater bilateral relations and cultural exchange.
