Uzbekistan Telecom Operators Refund 115 Million UZS to Consumers for Overcharged Mobile Services

Telecommunication companies in Uzbekistan have recently refunded 115 million UZS to consumers who were overcharged for mobile and internet services. The Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee has verified and confirmed these refunds.

In the last nine months, the committee has received approximately 2,000 complaints from consumers regarding various issues such as poor service quality, incorrect billing, contract violations, and unsolicited SMS advertisements being sent without subscriber consent.

In light of these complaints, the committee has taken action by issuing warnings to telecom operators, including mobile service providers, stressing the importance of adhering to consumer protection laws. This serves as a reminder to companies to uphold ethical business practices and prioritize customer satisfaction in the telecommunications industry.
