Uzbekistan Foils Attempt to Smuggle 115 Tons of Diesel Fuel
In a recent development, Uzbekistan has successfully thwarted an attempt to illegally import 115 tons of diesel fuel, valued at 1.3 billion UZS, as reported by “Uzenergoinspection.”
The illicit scheme involved the transportation of the fuel from Turkmenistan into Uzbekistan, with the cargo falsely declared as “bitumen mastic” in official documents. However, thorough testing conducted by a chemical laboratory under “Uzenergoinspection” revealed that the substance was, in fact, diesel fuel.
Following the discovery of the smuggling operation, appropriate legal actions have been taken, and the petroleum products have been temporarily confiscated by authorities.
This latest incident underscores the ongoing efforts by Uzbekistan to combat smuggling and illegal trade activities, ensuring the integrity of its borders and upholding the rule of law.
