
Uzbekistan to Lead Non-Aligned Movement for 2027-2029 Term

Uzbekistan Takes Part in 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit
The 19th summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) took place on January 19-20 in Kampala, Uganda, and was attended by a delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhrom Aloyev.
The event saw the participation of more than 100 state delegations, including heads of state, government, foreign affairs agencies, and their deputies, who exchanged opinions on current international issues and made suggestions on utilizing the potential of the Non-Aligned Movement to promote global peace, stability, and socio-economic development.
During the summit, the Uzbekistan delegation expressed gratitude to all members of the movement for their support of Uzbekistan’s candidacy for the chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement in the years 2027-2029. Additionally, the delegation informed participants about the extensive and intensive reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan across all sectors of society.
Special emphasis was placed on the importance of developing cooperation in transport and logistics, improving economic and financial systems, combating climate change, and environmental protection. Furthermore, it was highlighted that mutual cooperation and the exchange of experience in the fields of science and innovative technologies are crucial, as well as the support for the young generation.
The summit provided an important platform for Uzbekistan to engage with other member states of the Non-Aligned Movement and to contribute to discussions on pressing global issues.
