Uzbekistan to Purchase 1,000 Yutong Buses for Tashkent
The Ministry of Transport in Tashkent is considering the acquisition of 1,000 new buses, as discussed in a recent meeting with representatives from the Chinese company Yutong Bus. Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov and Xu Peng, Vice President for International Marketing at Yutong Bus, exchanged views on the ongoing project to procure 200 electric buses during the meeting.
The focus of the discussions was on modernizing the public transportation fleet in Uzbekistan to enhance the transit system. This is part of the country’s broader efforts to improve transportation infrastructure.
One of the key issues addressed during the meeting was creating better conditions for private entrepreneurs to purchase electric buses. Minister Makhkamov emphasized the importance of enhancing Yutong’s service and maintenance support, especially with the increasing number of the company’s buses and electric buses in operation in Uzbekistan.
