Uzbekistan to launch 24 projects with a total budget of $12.7 billion in 2023
Uzbekistan has ambitious plans for the upcoming year, with a total of 24 projects set to be launched with a combined budget of $12.7 billion. This announcement was made during a meeting on the development of the electrical, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries in the regions, where the President of the Republic, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was briefed on the details.
The allocated funds will be utilized for various purposes, including expanding production capacity in key industries. Specifically, the funds will be used for projects such as the expansion of polyvinyl chloride production at Navoiazot and soda ash in Kungrad, as well as the production of olefin from methanol in Karakul. Additionally, there are plans for the production of metal sheets for household appliances and cars in Samarkand.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of involving local enterprises in the supply of construction materials and equipment necessary for the successful implementation of these projects. This move is expected to further stimulate the local economy and create opportunities for business growth.
In addition to the major projects, there are also plans for 190 medium and small projects in the electrical engineering sector, with a total budget of $2.1 billion. Similarly, the chemical industry is set to see 139 projects worth $3.8 billion, and the pharmaceutical sector will have 110 medium and small projects with a budget of $1.5 billion.
These developments signify a significant step forward for Uzbekistan’s economy and industrial growth, and are poised to make a positive impact on the country’s overall development.
