
Uzbekistan’s Consul General in Kazan explores enhanced cooperation with Tatarstan’s President

The Consul General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, Nodirjon Kasimov, recently met with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, to discuss the strong and friendly relations between their countries. President Minnikhanov praised the efforts of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan, and also acknowledged the important role played by the Uzbekistan Consulate General in Kazan in maintaining historical connections between the two regions.
In response, Consul General Kasimov expressed his gratitude for the continuous support from the leadership of Tatarstan in enhancing relations with Uzbekistan. He also highlighted the potential for increasing trade volume and expanding cooperation in various fields. Both parties expressed their willingness to facilitate multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan.
The meeting included discussions on cooperation in trade, economics, culture, and humanitarian activities, as well as collaborations in student exchanges and personnel training. Additionally, talks were held on ongoing projects in Chirchik and Jizzakh, and the establishment of joint industrial zones in the Bukhara and Navoi regions.
Before taking on his role as Consul General in Kazan, Nodirjon Kasimov served as the Acting Head of the State Plant Quarantine Inspection in Uzbekistan. He succeeded Fariddin Nasriyev, who had previously served as the head of the Consulate General and was appointed as the Ambassador to Iran.
The meeting between Consul General Kasimov and President Minnikhanov reflects the commitment of both countries to further enhancing their cooperation and strengthening their bilateral relations in various fields.
