Uzbekistan’s Textile Exports Reach $2.33 Billion in January-September 2023

The Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan has reported that the country exported textile products worth $2.33 billion during the period of January to September 2023. This value represents 13.2% of the total exports made by the country within the same time frame.

Out of the total textile export amount, ready-made textile products accounted for $967.5 million, which is approximately 41.4% of the total textile exports. Meanwhile, the export of yarn reached $945 million, making up around 40.4% of the total textile exports.

The data reveals that a wide range of textile products, amounting to 582 types, have been exported from Uzbekistan to 58 different countries around the world since the beginning of the year.

However, it is worth noting that the export of textile products has experienced a decrease compared to the previous year. In the same period in 2022, the total export value amounted to $2.41 billion, indicating a decline in the current year’s exports.

These statistics highlight the significance of Uzbekistan’s textile industry in terms of contributing to the country’s overall economy and international trade. The textile sector plays a crucial role in creating employment opportunities and attracting foreign investment. Furthermore, it showcases the country’s ability to produce and export high-quality textiles that meet international standards.

The government of Uzbekistan has been actively supporting the development of the textile industry through various initiatives, including providing incentives for foreign investors, improving infrastructure, and promoting training programs to enhance the skills of the local workforce.

As Uzbekistan continues to strengthen its position in the global textile market, it is expected that the country’s textile exports will experience growth in the future. The government’s efforts to enhance the industry’s competitiveness and expand its market reach will likely contribute to achieving this goal.

In conclusion, despite a slight decrease in textile exports compared to the previous year, Uzbekistan’s textile industry remains an important sector for the country’s economy. The significant export figures demonstrate the country’s potential and competitiveness in the international textile market. With ongoing support and continuous efforts, Uzbekistan’s textile sector is poised to make further progress in the coming years.
