Uztelecom Refutes YouTube Speed Reduction Allegations

Uztelecom Denies Reports of YouTube Slowdown in Uzbekistan

Uztelecom, the national telecommunication provider in Uzbekistan, has refuted claims of a slowdown in the YouTube video hosting service in the country. According to the company’s spokesperson, Timur Mamadjanov, all telecommunication services provided by JSC ‘Uzbektelecom’ (branded as UZTELECOM) are operating normally without any restrictions.

In recent days, local social media users have voiced concerns about poor performance while using YouTube, citing slow video loading times. These complaints have prompted speculation about potential limitations imposed on the platform in Uzbekistan.

Interestingly, in mid-July, Rostelecom, a state-owned internet provider in Russia, announced a similar issue with YouTube’s performance in Russia. The slowdown was reportedly linked to “technical issues” occurring on local servers belonging to Alphabet, the parent company of YouTube based in the United States.

While concerns about YouTube’s performance persist in Uzbekistan, Uztelecom maintains that there are no deliberate restrictions in place affecting the platform’s accessibility or speed. The company assures customers that they continue to deliver telecommunication services in accordance with their usual standards.
