Verified Advertising Launches in Auto Industry
Deputy Minister of Commerce Mahmut Gürcan spoke at the Automotive and Energy Vision Meeting organized by MÜSİAD, emphasizing Turkey’s resilience in the face of the global recession caused by the epidemic. Despite the challenges, Turkey’s economy has continued to grow steadily, with a 5.1 percent growth rate in 2023.
Gürcan highlighted the significant role of the automotive industry in Turkey’s exports, with main industry exports reaching 19.4 billion dollars in 2023. He also mentioned that total exports, including the sub-industry, surpassed 35 billion dollars, with the automotive sector expected to reach 26 billion dollars in exports by the end of September 2024.
One key announcement made by Gürcan was the mandatory application of identity and authorization verification for advertising platforms starting in January. This measure aims to ensure that advertisements are placed by individuals and companies with approved TR ID numbers and authorization certificates. Similar regulations have been implemented for the real estate sector, with further measures to be rolled out in the coming months.
Gürcan emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a fair, competitive, and stable market structure in the automotive industry, as efforts to drive growth and innovation continue.
The event was attended by various prominent figures, including AK Party Konya Deputy Mustafa Hakan Özer, AK Party Konya Provincial Chairman Hasan Angı, MÜSİAD Deputy Chairman Ahmet Doğan Alperen, and MÜSİAD Konya Branch President Hilmi Kağnıcı. Overall, the gathering provided a platform for industry leaders and policymakers to discuss critical developments and opportunities in the automotive and energy sectors.
