Max Verstappen Clinches Pole Position at Miami Grand Prix
Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing secured pole position at the Miami Grand Prix, narrowly outpacing McLaren’s Lando Norris by just 0.065 seconds. This comes after Norris emerged victorious in the sprint race held earlier on Saturday.
Kimi Antonelli from Mercedes, who started on pole for the sprint race, finished in third place, while Oscar Piastri, Norris’s teammate at McLaren, took fourth. Mercedes driver George Russell rounded out the top five.
Meanwhile, Ferrari faced challenges, with Charles Leclerc finishing in eighth and Lewis Hamilton down in twelfth. The competition proved fierce, especially for Ferrari, with both drivers unable to capitalize on their potential.
Verstappen’s impressive performance was bolstered by an upgraded floor on his car for this weekend’s race. His remarkable speed in the first sector of the lap set the tone, a feat that McLaren couldn’t recover from during the remainder of the session.
