Max Verstappen wins the first race of the Formula 1 season
The first leg of the Formula 1 World Championship kicked off with the Bahrain Grand Prix, and it was the Dutch driver Max Verstappen of the Red Bull team who emerged victorious.
The race took place at the 5.4-kilometer International Bahrain Circuit in the Sakhir region, consisting of 57 laps. Verstappen, a three-time champion, started the race in pole position and maintained his lead throughout, crossing the finish line with a time of 1 hour 31 minutes and 44.742 seconds.
Mexican driver Sergio Perez finished in second place, 22.457 seconds behind his teammate, while Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz secured the third spot, 25.110 seconds behind the leader.
The next race on the F1 calendar is the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix scheduled for March 9.
