29 October Republic Day: A Message from Vice President Yılmaz
In his message on the occasion of October 29 Republic Day, Vice President Yılmaz expressed the significance of this day and the heroic struggles of the Turkish nation. He stated, “The Republic is the result of the unprecedented struggle of the Turkish nation, despite all kinds of impossibilities, and the heroism shown by the exemplary love of homeland, freedom, and independence.”
Vice President Yılmaz emphasized the importance of protecting democracy and the values of the Republic. He stated, “Since the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, we have had the understanding of being able to sacrifice everything to live as a single nation under the shadow of our crescent and star red flag and we have protected our democracy. We will continue to feel and keep alive this spirit in our entire being.”
Looking towards the future, Vice President Yılmaz expressed the commitment to making Turkey one of the leading countries in the world. He said, “In the Turkey Century, we will work tirelessly to make Turkey one of the leading countries in the world, with the determination to keep this beautiful homeland, our values, and our Republic, entrusted to us by our ancestors, alive forever.”
Vice President Yılmaz concluded his message by commemorating the founder of the Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and all the martyrs and veterans who have fought for the Republic. He said, “I commemorate all our martyrs and veterans, especially its founder, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and his comrades-in-arms, with mercy, gratitude, and respect. Happy 29 October Republic Day. I wish you many more years in unity and brotherhood.”
