Ten Villages in Osh Region Lack Access to Clean Water
Deputy Alisher Kozuev raised concerns about the lack of access to clean water in ten villages in the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region during a meeting of the Parliament. According to Kozuev, residents of Sherali village are forced to drink water from an irrigation ditch due to the lack of clean water access.
The ten villages mentioned by Kozuev are Otuz Adyr, Furkat, Kysh-Abad, Kara Dobo, Zhany Kyzyl Suu, Kozhombak, Savay Aryk, Besh Kapa, Kazakmala, and Chokmala. The deputy emphasized the urgent need to include these rural areas in the Taza Suu project, which aims to provide access to clean water.
It was noted that the World Bank has already allocated $63 million for the Taza Suu project, which is intended to cover 95 villages. So far, the project has been implemented in 45 settlements, but Kozuev urged for the inclusion of the mentioned villages in the project to address the dire situation of water access in the region.
The lack of access to clean water is a pressing issue, and the inclusion of these villages in the Taza Suu project would be a crucial step towards ensuring clean and safe drinking water for the residents of the Kara-Suu district.
