The Accounts Chamber Discovers Violations in Balykchy’s Local Budget
Bishkek – On December 21, 2024, the Accounts Chamber reported that they had detected violations in the local budget of Balykchy. The agency had conducted an audit of the budget execution from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023, and found violations amounting to 10.7 million soms, with 1.8 million requiring reimbursement.
During the audit, the Accounts Chamber noted that 1.5 million soms had already been reimbursed. The violations identified in Balykchy included misuse of budget funds for capital investments and construction work, other deficiencies in the budget system, failure to ensure property safety, violations of accounting regulations, as well as issues related to accounting and reporting procedures and public procurement laws.
The Accounts Chamber has since issued instructions and recommendations to the local authorities to rectify these violations. It is crucial for transparency and accountability in the management of public funds that such violations are promptly addressed to ensure proper financial governance in the region.
