
Visit of Turkmenistan’s Halk Maslahaty Chairman to Uzbekistan

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov recently made a friendly visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. The visit began with a warm welcome from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the International Airport of Samarkand. The two leaders then proceeded to the historical and cultural complex of monuments “Hazrati Hizir” in the city of Samarkand, paying tribute to the memory of the late statesman Islam Karimov.
During the visit, the leaders discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships in areas such as energy, transport, agriculture, and high technology. They also highlighted the significance of cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries.
A highlight of the visit was the presentation of the highest state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Order of “Oliý Darajali Dustlik”, to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The ceremony symbolized the enduring friendship and brotherhood between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The visit concluded with the planting of a tree in the park of honored guests of the Congress Center, symbolizing a commitment to further collaboration and friendship between the two countries. As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov departed for home, both leaders reiterated their commitment to maintaining strong and prosperous relations for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
