Vladimir Shadykanov Appointed as Deputy Minister of Defense in Kyrgyz Republic
President Sadyr Japarov has officially named Vladimir Shadykanov as the new Deputy Minister of Defense in the Kyrgyz Republic. This decision comes after the dismissal of the previous Deputy Minister, Emil Osmonov, on October 9, 2024.
The State Committee for National Security has reported that Osmonov’s removal from office is linked to an ongoing investigation into a corruption scheme. It is believed that there was an attempt to illegally withdraw approximately 1 billion soms meant for the purchase of weapons as part of this scheme.
