Volkswagen Plans to Reduce Staff Numbers
Volkswagen, one of Europe’s largest automobile manufacturers, has reportedly sent messages to IG Metall union representatives indicating that they are preparing to lay off staff.
During a meeting with the IG Metall union, Volkswagen, which is Europe’s largest vehicle manufacturer, communicated that the number of employees will be reduced. Thomas Schaefer, the brand chief of Volkswagen, emphasized the critical nature of the situation.
In response, Daniela Cavallo, the company’s works council leader, stated, “We must not deviate from our collective agreements and our job security until 2029.”
