
We are Running for Justice: Marathon in Memory of the Champion Angels in Famagusta on April 7

The “Four Famagusta Marathon” is set to take place in Famagusta on April 7, in memory of the Champion Angels. The theme for this year’s marathon is “We are running for justice.”
To kick off the event, a festival will be held on April 6 at 16:00 at Cortado Espressolab on Salamis road. The races will officially start on the morning of April 7 at 07:00, with a 42-kilometer run. There will be various categories for participants, including 42, 10, 6, 3, and 1-kilometer runs.
One of the highlights of the marathon is the 3-kilometer run called “Champion Angels,” where there will be no ratings and all members of the public are invited to participate. The event is officially approved by the World Athletics Organization, and a total of 500 thousand TL in prize money will be distributed to the winners.
Applications for the marathon can be made at famagustamarathon.com starting this evening. The stakeholders organizing the marathon held a press conference at Famagusta Municipality, where Famagusta Mayor Süleyman Uluçay expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event.
President of the Champion Angels Keeping Alive Association, Ruşen Yücesoylu Karakaya, emphasized the importance of seeking justice for the victims lost in the tragic earthquake at the Grand Isias Hotel. Karakaya urged for support in ensuring justice and remembering the loved ones lost in the disaster.
The committee chairman, Yetkin Öngün, highlighted the significance of the marathon in supporting justice and honoring the memory of the Champion Angels. He called for the public to join the fight for justice by participating in the marathon.
Various officials, including TRNC Athletics Federation President Ferhat Sakallı and EMU Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Conclusion Zorlu, expressed their support and pride in being part of the organization. They emphasized the importance of promoting justice and supporting the cause through events like the Famagusta Marathon.
The marathon serves as a symbol of unity, remembrance, and a call for justice. Participants and supporters alike are encouraged to join in the event and show their solidarity for the cause.
