
WHO Donates Laboratory Equipment to Health Ministry Worth 8 Million Soms

On March 28, 2025, the World Health Organization (WHO) made a valuable contribution to the health sector in Kyrgyzstan by providing laboratory equipment worth over 8 million soms to the Ministry of Health. This equipment is intended to enhance the epidemiological surveillance of infectious diseases in the country.
The National Institute of Public Health, the Bishkek State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Center, and the Osh City Center for Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance are the institutions that will benefit from this technical equipment. The equipment includes laminar flow boxes for ensuring microbiological safety, refrigerators for storing serological and PCR tests, steam sterilizers, and other essential tools. These resources will enable specialists to conduct more accurate and efficient laboratory research on various infectious diseases such as measles, hepatitis, and other highly dangerous infections.
This significant donation from the WHO highlights the importance of strengthening the capacity of healthcare facilities in Kyrgyzstan to effectively detect and monitor infectious diseases.
