WHO Loses Contact with Şifa Hospital
The World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General, Ghebreyesus, has stated on the official social media platform that the WHO has lost contact with the center in Şifa Hospital. According to the latest reports received, the hospital has been surrounded by tanks and those trying to leave or escape have been fired upon, resulting in injuries and casualties.
The WHO is deeply concerned about these developments and Ghebreyesus emphasized that the only way to save lives in Gaza is to declare an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. He reiterated the organization’s calls for this ceasefire to take effect.
Furthermore, Ghebreyesus called for a sustainable, orderly, unimpeded, and safe medical evacuation of critically injured and ill patients. Additionally, he stressed the importance of providing appropriate medical care to all hostages and releasing them unconditionally.
