Why were lieutenants expelled from the TSK?

Lieutenants Separated from Turkish Armed Forces for Violating Oath
Five lieutenants of the High Disciplinary Board of the Land Forces Command have been separated from the Turkish Armed Forces for violating their oath. The justification for this decision was provided to the lieutenants in writing, citing the reason that the reputation of the Turkish Armed Forces was damaged due to their actions.
According to reports, one of the lieutenants, Ebru Eroğlu, was planning to protest a regulation to change a monument and played a leading role in reading the oath. However, she was removed from duty for not adhering to the directive, which emphasized discipline and obedience as key criteria in the military atmosphere.
The decision was made with a 5-4 vote, highlighting the importance of maintaining the reputation of the Turkish Armed Forces and upholding the values set by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It was noted that images of the lieutenants’ actions led to a negative impact on society and raised questions about the commitment of the Turkish Armed Forces.
President Erdoğan recently announced the start of the İşkur Youth Program, shifting the focus towards empowering the youth and providing opportunities for growth and development amidst such disciplinary actions within the armed forces.
