Wildfire Ravages Izmir Forests
A forest fire broke out in Izmir’s Kınık district, starting in agricultural land and quickly spreading to the nearby forest area. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but it posed a significant threat to the environment and local wildlife.
Efforts to combat the fire involved a coordinated response from both air and land teams. Four aircraft, one helicopter, 27 water tankers, seven water supply vehicles, four dozers, and two ground crews from the Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the scene.
With the help of the intervention teams, the fire was successfully brought under control. However, their work is not yet done as they continue their efforts to fully extinguish the flames in the affected area.
