Bishkek – 21 June 2024 – Employees of Khan-Teniri State Nature Park in Kyrgyzstan have recently captured stunning images of mountain goats and snow leopards in their natural habitat. These photos and videos were sent to the 24.kg news agency, showcasing the beauty and importance of these endangered species.

The snow leopard, a majestic and elusive creature, is listed on the Red List of Threatened Species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. It is considered a rare or endangered species in 12 countries, highlighting the need for conservation efforts to protect these magnificent animals.

The images were captured using camera traps, providing a rare glimpse into the lives of these mountain-dwelling animals. A herd of mountain goats was also caught on video, showcasing the diverse wildlife that calls Khan-Teniri State Nature Park home.

This nature park was established as part of a UNDP project and is located in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. It is the largest nature park in the country, featuring a range of trekking and mountaineering routes that attract outdoor enthusiasts from around the world. Visitors can enjoy treks along the Tien Shan, ascend peaks like Khan Tengri and Pobeda, explore the South Inylchek glaciers, and marvel at the beauty of Merzbacher Lake.
