Winners Announced for Global Warming/Climate Change Essay Competition

KOOP-BANK and the Ministry of National Education have successfully organized an inter-school composition competition on the topic of “Global Warming/Climate Change.” The award ceremony for this competition was held at the KOOP-BANK Headquarters Building Conference Hall in Nicosia.

The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the national anthem. The general manager of KOOP-BANK, Kemal Ataman, congratulated the students for their essays on global warming, stating that it is one of the biggest problems of our time. He also expressed his happiness at seeing how conscious the children are regarding this issue.

Ataman further mentioned that KOOP-BANK has initiated various projects to draw attention to the issue of global warming. The Minister of National Education, Nazım Çavuşoğlu, also appreciated KOOP-BANK’s efforts to prevent global warming and protect not just our country but the world from its adverse effects.

The minister further stated that global warming has been depicted as a monster in most of the compositions they received, but pointed out that it is humans who are responsible for causing this phenomenon. He concluded his speech by saying, “A person who does not pollute the environment makes the world more livable.”

After the speeches, the jury members of the competition were presented with thank-you packages. Finally, prizes and various gifts were presented to the children who ranked in the competition. The competition was an excellent initiative to create awareness among students about the pressing issue of global warming and the importance of taking steps to protect the environment.
