Women Entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan Benefit from US-Supported Program

The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program in Kazakhstan is currently accepting applications to support and nurture women’s entrepreneurship in the country. Launched by the United States Department of State in 2021, this initiative aims to empower women to realize their economic potential, ultimately creating a more stable, safe, and prosperous society.

The program, which is free of charge, will be conducted online in Kazakh through the DreamBuilder learning platform. It is divided into two groups: one for women without business experience and another for those who already have entrepreneurial experience and are seeking to expand their businesses. Participants will have the opportunity to acquire business-building skills and enhance their English language proficiency.

Women between the ages of 21 and 35 from North Kazakhstan, Kostanai, Akmola, East Kazakhstan, Abai, Karagandy, and Ulytau Regions are eligible to apply for the program. A competitive selection process will choose 100 participants to take part in the program.

In a previous round, 130 women from the South Kazakhstan and Pavlodar Regions participated, with some receiving grants of up to 1 million tenge (US $2080). Top graduates will be invited to the final event in Almaty, where they will compete in a project defense competition for grant awards.

AWE is a global initiative present in over 100 countries that assists women in launching and expanding businesses. Since its inception, more than 25,000 women worldwide have completed the program, forming a network of alumni who share experiences and establish business connections. Apply now to be a part of this empowering and impactful program for women entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan.
