Samil Azizov Speaks Out in Support of Palestine at the “European Summit for Palestine”
Samil Azizov, world champion wrestler, and advisor to the president of the European Muslim Forum, Abdulvahid Niyazov, recently made a statement at the “European Summit for Palestine.” The event, organized by the European Muslim Forum, the Palestine Judgeship, and the Re-Welfare Party, took place at Çırağan Palace.
During his speech, Azizov highlighted the ongoing genocide in Palestine, emphasizing the loss of innocent lives, including children, women, and the elderly. He expressed concern over the silence of the international community in the face of these atrocities.
Azizov emphasized the need to unite people from around the world in support of Palestine and to amplify the voice of the Palestinian people globally. He spoke passionately about the role of the sports community in advocating for Palestine, praising athletes who have publicly voiced their support and raised awareness about the situation.
The wrestler also shed light on the humanitarian aid provided by athletes, citing examples such as Cristiano Ronaldo’s support for the Palestinians. Azizov commended the active involvement of athletes from Russia and the Caucasus in addressing the injustices faced by the Palestinian population.
In addition, Azizov pointed out the disparity in treatment between Russia and Israel, noting that while Russian athletes have faced sanctions due to political conflicts, Israel has not faced similar repercussions despite its actions.
Azizov also lauded President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his strong stance against Israel, contrasting it with the relative silence of other world leaders in response to the situation in Palestine.
