Yasemin Adar Yiğit Prepares for the European Championship
Yasemin Adar Yiğit, a national wrestler, is currently in the midst of intense training sessions at the Aladağ Camp Training Center of the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports as she prepares for the European Championship, which is set to take place from February 12th to 18th.
Yiğit expressed her satisfaction with the team’s preparation for the championship, stating that the Women’s National Wrestling Team is ambitious and has consistently ranked among the top three teams in Europe. She emphasized the team’s goal of becoming the European champion and highlighted the individual successes of each athlete.
As a six-time European champion, Yiğit also made a playful remark about aiming for her 7th championship, which would make her surpass the record set by the federation president, Şeref Eroğlu.
Looking ahead to the Paris 2024 Olympics, Yiğit expressed her confidence in the success of women’s wrestling and highlighted the two quotas already secured by her teammates. She expressed hope for obtaining more quotas and representing Turkey in the best possible way at the upcoming Olympics.
