Yılmaz emphasizes close cooperation and strong brotherhood ties between two countries – BRTK
In 2025, an important economic and financial cooperation agreement was signed between the government of the Republic of Türkiye and the TRNC government. The signing ceremony took place at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, where Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Prime Minister Ünal Üsel signed the treaty.
During a joint press conference following the signing, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced that 18.5 billion pounds of new funding had been allocated as part of the agreement, totaling 21 billion TL. He emphasized that the budget will prioritize sustainable economic growth, infrastructure investments, and support for the real sector.
Yılmaz expressed his hopes that the agreement would bring prosperity to the TRNC state, the Turkish Cypriot community, and the region as a whole. He reiterated the commitment to strong cooperation based on brotherly ties and a common vision between the two countries.
Prime Minister Ünal Üsel highlighted the historical significance of the agreement, noting that it would enable the implementation of vital projects in the country. He outlined plans for significant projects in 2025, focusing on infrastructure development, sports facilities, and addressing infrastructure deficiencies in organized livestock regions.
To address the increasing energy needs during the summer months, Üsel announced that 2 mobile trailers with an additional 35 megawatt power capacity would be donated to support the power plants. He underscored the importance of maintaining peace, trust, and prosperity, with the continuous support received from Türkiye.
