Hungarian Folk Dance Camp in Sátoraljaújhely

The Rákóczi Association is hosting its annual Hungarian Folk Dance Camp in Sátoraljaújhely, northern Hungary along the Slovakian border. The camp is one of the main meeting places for Hungarian youth, and this year, it is expected to attract a total of 12,000 participants from 31 countries.

The main aim of the camp is for young people to come together, make lifelong friendships, and create memorable experiences through exciting programs. The focus of the camp is to strengthen the knowledge and love of Hungarian culture and language.

The All-Hungarian High School Camp, which is a part of the larger Folk Dance Camp, will be attended by 509 students from 45 high schools in the Carpathian Basin and high school students of Hungarian roots from other countries such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Spain, and Northern Macedonia.

The Rákóczi Association, founded in 1989 and headquartered in Budapest, is a social organization that aims to promote Hungarian culture, language, and communities. Its activities are primarily directed towards young Hungarians.

The camp will be attended by distinguished guests such as Attila Fülöp, Secretary of State for Welfare Policy at the Ministry of the Interior, and Zsolt Nyitrai, the prime minister’s advisor.

In addition to the Hungarian Folk Dance Camp, more than two dozen camps will be held throughout the summer, offering a variety of programs including sailing, folk dance, mother tongue, diaspora, and cycling camps.
